Who We Are

Why?

All In For Kids is an initiative built for Chicago Public Schools, and generously supported by the Robert R. McCormick Foundation.

This two-year pilot initiative layers VOCEL’s programs in six school communities in the Englewood & Little Village neighborhoods to establish an ecosystem-wide vision for early learning excellence. By training and supporting parents and caregivers, teachers, and school leaders, VOCEL will strengthen your school’s capacity to help your youngest learners thrive.

Children’s early experiences impact the way they learn and develop for the rest of their lives.

By creating high-quality learning environments during their first 8 years of life, when their brains are most malleable, you are investing in your students and their futures. VOCEL will help your parents, caregivers, teachers and leaders make your school a place where early learners shine.

All In For Kids Programs

VOCEL Child Parent Academy (VCPA)

VOCEL’s flagship program is a dynamic, two-generational early learning accelerator that young children (0-4 years) and their parents or caregivers attend together to learn side-by-side. This program is hybrid and offers weekly sessions virtually and at schools in Chicago’s West, Southwest, and South Sides.

Leveraging the latest research in early learning and adult capabilities, the Child Parent Academy is intentionally designed for both young children and their parents/caregivers. VOCEL believes that young children can build a foundation for future academic learning by ensuring that their parents/caregivers have the knowledge, social capital, and support to help their children succeed.

Powered by VOCEL (PbV)

Motivated by high demand for group-based early learning and family support, Powered by VOCEL is led by parent leaders, rather than by VOCEL staff. We develop knowledgeable, passionate advocates for early childhood best practices within the communities we seek to serve. At the same time, we're able to deliver high-quality programming to families at a lower cost than our traditional Child Parent Academy.

By training school staff and community members to deliver the Child Parent Academy curriculum, VOCEL reaches more families and builds capacity within the school community and neighborhood communities for sustained impact, year after year.

Building Early Learning Leaders (BELL)

We believe that schools must prepare for young children just as much as children should prepare for school. VOCEL has created professional development to support a cohort of Chicago Public Schools leaders in establishing their vision for early learning excellence.

Building Early Learning Leaders (BELL) is a cohort-based program designed for school leaders and administrators to strengthen their leadership of early learning programs in their schools by identifying and implementing strong early learning practices. Expert early learning leadership coaches from VOCEL partner closely with you to determine the most pressing challenges in your early learning program and develop a tailored action plan, working alongside you and your team to support implementation and improve outcomes for our earliest learners.

Early Educators for Thriving Children Fellowship (EETC)

VOCEL’s Early Educators for Thriving Children (EETC) Fellowship supports pre-K through second grade teachers learn developmentally appropriate practices and implementation on mental health supports, play based learning, and social emotional learning. Together with a community of support in the fellowship cohort, they will create action plans to implement key priorities for improvement at their schools. This fellowship will help those teacher leaders translate their knowledge, visions and goals to action with the support of a coach and peer group ready to help one another – and one another’s students – thrive!
