Director of Development

“I am continuously inspired by a little one’s unlimited capacity for curiosity, joy, and connection. It connects me to my inner child, allowing wonder and compassion to guide my work.”

Anais joined VOCEL in July 2021. As the only child of a 25+ years Chicago Public Schools educator, she’s deeply motivated by VOCEL’s collaboration with educators and parents and their shared vision of early childhood excellence. She’s honored to champion these critical partnerships (and the impact of her outstanding VOCEL colleagues) through her development work.

Anais graduated from Pomona College with a degree in Theatre and a background in directing. It was at Pomona that she first began using storytelling as a tool to inspire compassion and build community. At VOCEL, she leans into this passion to build the relationships needed to help strengthen supportive and inclusive communities, dedicated to educational equity in Chicago and beyond.

Anais is proud to be a born-and-raised Chicagoan. During her downtime, she spends her time writing and reading, learning how to keep plants alive, playing video and board games — and trying to convince her spouse they should adopt a dog!
